Latin America Candidus

I recently read "Candide" by Voltaire and was intrigued by it. Political, societal, and natural events clearly influenced "Candide". The belief that we live in the best of all possible worlds, Voltaire suggested, was naive at best. This belief implies that we should settle for the world as it exists, a notion Voltaire simply refused to believe, as should we. This blog will focus on political events in Latin America and offer both objective and subjective analysis. This blog will scrutinize Latin American governments and political movements. Latin America's tainted political history need not repeat itself. Governed wisely, Latin American governments can improve and reach a "candidus" state. Why candidus? The Latin word "candidus" literally means white, but implies purity, frankness and honesty.
